"I've called this board meeting today to discuss an important issue. The sellers are screaming on the forums again about how bad seller support is."
"Well, it's true."
"They're saying the bots have run amok and are trashing their listings."
"Also true."
"The appeals process is broken."
"Yes, it is."
"The A-Z process is unfair."
"Well, that's deliberate."
"That we're holding on to too much of their money."
"Also deliberate."
"That they don't feel heard and respected."
"They're right about that."
"That the catalogue is a mess and it's impossible to fix."
"True enough."
"The question is then, what are we going to do about it?"
"That's a tricky one."
"It's a puzzler indeed."
"No easy solutions."
"Well, we could dangle some shiny tinsel in front of them and wiggle it about."
"What?"
"It works for distracting my cats."
"I see. Good idea. That's the kind of blue-sky outside-the-box thinking we like."
"Ah, sorry to interject. I realise I'm new here but couldn't we try, y'know, fixing some of these issues...?"
"Hahahaha!"
"Ohohoho!"
"Aaaaahahaha!"
"Oh, Jenkins; you'll never get very far with that attitude."
"Fix the issues, indeed. That's a good one."
"Comedy gold."
"Alright, so, all in favour?"
"Aye."
"Aye."
"Aye."
"The board approves. Shiny tinsel it is."
If i win can i swap the £100 for a seller support that's fit for purpose?
Unfortunately, Amazon has been one massive sweepstake for years! Selling and dispatching the item on time, is the ticket, the prize is, if Amazon actually pays you for that sold item, rather than time after time, refunding the same scammers!
This post just perfectly sums up the feelings that Amazon has for its 3rd party sellers.
The thing is, we all know that only 4 sellers will ever get entered into the sweepstake, for reasons that Amazon won't be able to tell us, because they use a top secret algorithm to choose who to enter in there.
The lucky person that does win will use it to offset the £52000 that Amazon have been holding back for 2 years because of... you've guessed it, top secret algorithm goodness.
Stop treating your sellers with utter contempt or you will have nothing left when the EU finally comes calling for all your shady business shenanigans.
When I saw the title I immediately thought WHAT? Maybe it's a sweepstake that if you ask seller support a question and actually get a sensible answer that addresses the issue, you win a prize.
I would love £100 compensation/gift card for the two times my account was under review for several weeks what seemed like non-sense reasons and i lost sales and selling momentum which equalled much more than £100 .
My sales still havent recovered following the April (Handmade check) and the one in June (Sole Trader Check). I wouldn't have minded if i was a new seller but i have been selling here for 7 years.
I understand you restricting sales if you think someone is trading something dangerous or illegal but to just stop sales of genuine sellers with a good track history for a bureaucratic reason that the seller can easily supply a document for or re confirm their details.
Like many of the other sellers have said here fix the problems with seller support would be the best thing.
As the temperatures cool, Seller Forums are heating up! We'll be announcing a sweepstakes soon, so set your bookmarks! Details coming soon on how you can participate - don't miss out! Check back in a few weeks for your chance to win!
