Buying 1st Class post through Amazon
We have been purchasing all of our postage labels through Amazon to sort the VTR issue, but the default postage setting appears to be ‘Royal Mail 2nd class’ and we then have to go through each one to select 1st class post. The only way I’ve found to change the default setting to 1st class is to change the default handling time to ‘same day’ in shipping settings - but this means that we then have to ship everything same day and this is not manageable for us.
Why isn’t there a drop down box at the top of the ‘Buy shipping’ page that lets you set a postage option for all orders?
Why do Amazon make things so hard?

They are offering you the postage option that they deem meets the order’s estimated delivery date
They obviously think 2nd class is sufficient but if you are choosing to upgrade at no extra cost to 1st class, you unfortunately just have to scroll through the options
Are you using SSA ?

Our delivery times are set at 2-3 days which is the minimum transit time that can be set for domestic shipping, so are everyones ‘Buy Shipping’ orders automatically set to 2nd class?

If you can trust Amazon to get the speed right (and I have to assume you can for the most part, since it doesn’t seem something Sellers raise threads about often) then it’s actually better this way, since you will end up defaulting to the cheaper option where appropriate.
If you’re trying to maintain a company standard across multiple sales platforms, it’s really annoying though. It’s also annoying if you’re trying to reduce the number of different postage types you use to conserve mail sacks.

You may want to have a look at something like veeqo which is now free and can be spread across all of your marketplaces. It can be integrated easily into buy shipping.
You can then set your own defaults for everything and do it in bulk.
