No preferred Shipping from Ireland

Can I ask why there is no preferred shipping from Ireland?? I’m only on my 2nd order and it’s a combination of books and toys and Amazon are suggesting 2 different fulfilment centres which is 2 x shipping. My first order was all books and dvd’s so all went to Coventry for €20 but now I will have to pay double. I thought now that there is a fulfilment centre in Dublin goods could be shipped there for onward distribution to the relevant fulfilment centres?? This would bring down the cost on already tight margins?

It’s quite simple really, Ireland is not part of the UK, it’s a separate country and part of the EU.
There is a distribution center in Dublin, but there is not an FBA center and even if there was, you would probably not be able to use it, for the UK market.
You have to remember, that these are separate countries.

And Amazon do split shipments, so that stock goes to the best FBA center.
You can’t really avoid it, it’s just the way it works.

And just in case, I presume that as you are storing stock in the UK, you are VAT registered?

Are some of the toys classed as oversized. The only time Amazon have ever split a shipment for me from Ireland was when some of the items were oversized.
