VAT Calculation Service - late registration
Hello, apologies in advance for this most likely stupid questions. I put a product online and after a number of orders a customer asked for an invoice. and I realized they couldn’t download it as I didn’t enable the vat calculation service.
When this will be active will the customer be able to download or probably not because I sold the item without VAT now? in this case do I need to create the invoice myself?
And how much of a problem is this in terms of filling returns and accounting, will an accountant be able to calculate and filing correctly I assume? Can the VAT registration service help to do this automatically?
Many thanks in advance for any help

Just create an invoice using a tool such as https://invoice-generator.com/#/3 and then upload to Amazon.
I would suggest you start learning a bit more about VAT if you think your sum is correct.
An item sold at £10 is sold for £8.33 + £1.67 VAT!
If there is any postage added on, that is vatable also.
So if your item is £10 + £2 postage.
That’s £8.33 + £1.66 postage, plus a total of £2.01 VAT

Hi Pandasoul, before we activated the VAT calculation service we uploaded our own invoices, once activated it will only automatically create invoices for orders from that date forward and not for orders in the past.

Thanks PlanB_Fashion, appreciate your answer. I guessed this particular customer request would fall in to manual invoice creation. In this case do I simply create an invoice with any online tool, the price they purchased at (say 10£) does it become in the invoice 8£ + £2 VAT? Many thanks
