Dear Seller,
We recently contacted you because you have incorrectly selected the ‘Individual’ legal entity when you registered for a Selling on Amazon payment account.
We kindly ask you to immediately update your legal entity in Seller Central to prevent your account from suspension. If you have already changed this information in Seller Central, thank you for doing so and no further action is required.
If you have not updated your legal entity, you need to do so before the 21st of this month, otherwise your selling privileges will be removed.
To update your legal entity, follow the instructions below:
– Go to the ‘Settings’ section of Seller Central (https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/on-board/configuration/index.html) and click ‘Account Info’ from the drop-down menu.
– In the ‘Business Information’ section, click the ‘Identity Information’ link.
– In the ‘Business and Contact Information’ section, click ‘Expand’
– In the ‘Business and Contact information’ section, click ‘edit information’ and select the relevant legal entity.
– Confirm the business details and click ‘Submit’.
Use the following information to select the correct legal entity:
– Individual: You must only choose this legal entity if you do not sell for profit. Individual sellers may list unwanted personal items, such as old DVDs or books.
– UK Sole Proprietor: This legal entity is for any commercial individual who sells for profit. A Sole Proprietorship is registered with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC). There is no legal distinction between the owner and the business.
– State-owned: A business that is either wholly or partially owned and operated by a government.
– Publicly-listed: A business with shares listed on a stock exchange for public trading.
– Privately-owned (such as Limited, Partnership, International Sole Proprietor): A business controlled and operated by private individuals.
– Charity: Incorporated or non-incorporated tax exempt body.
If you think your selling activity fits the ‘Individual’ legal entity, please reply to this email to confirm the source of your inventory over the last 12 months.
What happens if I do not send the requested information?
If we do not receive the requested information within 7 days, you will not be allowed to sell on Amazon’s European stores.

Are you registered as a business/self employed with hmrc?
Seller_7VbclcPFFRTnc
Individual sellers are people who only sell their own second hand goods such as books and cds. In order to sell New items that you are buying and selling as a profit you need to be registered with HMRC and Amazon as a business - either as a sole trader, partnership or Ltd Company
I take with the deadline of 21st - was 21st April ?
Are you already registered with HMRC ? If so, you need to upload your UTR number
I believe amazon are getting quite strict with this now (rightly so) so not sure what happens if you miss their deadline
Seller_DROodOAYHftnc
Yes, it is, and it seems that you registered as for an Individual Seller account and not a Business account.
As the others have said, if you are selling new items and are buying stock with the sole intent of selling on ie. trading, then you must be registered with HMRC as self-employed, keep accounts etc.
