Has anyone EVER got a pending order cancelled by Amazon on demand in special cases?
I seem to have a non-buyer who keeps my item in pending by repeatedly re-placing the pending order when the pending expires.
This means that in total it could exceed the total time of one pending session, as they add up.
Do you think it’s possible in this case for any department of Amazon to cancel it, or at least contact the buyer?
And has anyone ever had result from complaining about really cursed ridiculous option that Amazon has and no other company?
(I believe it makes Amazon loose a lot of money too - when these items are finally back on the market it may be after their pre-Christmas chance of selling and that chance may never come again! So stupid).

It is a very strange system that Amazon have. An order is placed and payment is attempted within the first 30 minutes. After that, if the payment fails, Amazon attempt to collect payment 3 times a day for up to 7 days. How can that be right? If I order something from say, Argos, online, if I don’t have the money in my account then the goods are not ordered and are free for somebody else to buy. I have raised this issue previously with seller support and there was nothing they could do because the system allows this to happen.

This is also being activly abused as a black hat tactics, there are several reports on the forum.
Unfortunately, Amazon does not care.

The system Amazon have is flawed. As we are a physical retailer, as well as other online channels, having an item that is ‘pending’ means I can’t sell until either the sale has gone through, or much more likely does not! I think Amazon should give an option to sellers whether they can opt out of this as the vast majority of pending sales never go through to a sale.

I had a pending order which was still pending after 20 days, contacted SS and they cancelled it right away in all fairness to them

If ever i feel that the order is bogus and that it is going to stay in pending i just relist the item, see how many times the buyer will keep on purchasing just to keep you off the listing

I have a similar issue with a customer who buys 30 items every month which stays in pending because they never complete the purchase. When I raise a case SS remove the purchase about 50% of the time and say they’ll refer it to the investigations team. After a year of going around the same loop, I don’t bother anymore.

Thanks everyone.
I find your replies quite encouraging. Even 50% of the time is much more than I expected, as they always all tell me that they just can’t do it.
(However after much insistence this time, one of them finally said they were transferring my case for investigation, but I saw that the order had cancelled already before I got this reply, and last time the non-buyer had also cancelled on a Saturday so it’s probably just coincidence…).
Next time I will quote your replies so they know that I know they can do it!
