Threatening Lawsuit

Hello all,

So I'm working with a customer that placed an order with me. They contacted me this morning to say their order won't get to them on time and want me to cancel the order. I wrote back and gave them the exact location of the package and carrier. I also told them that where the order has already been shipped the system will not let me cancel the order and asked what they would like to do next.

They have since written back and this nasty email threatening a lawsuit against me and my shop and will take me through the wringer if I don't cancel the order. There have been a few other emails and there doesn't seem to be any reasoning with this customer. How can I proceed with this?

Thanks everyone!

You can respond with "you can refuse the order" and then "no response needed" if you receive any further messages (assuming they are contacting you through Amazon).

lol. Sounds like you've got a real moron on your hands. Just advise them to refuse delivery or put in a return request once they receive it. I would then just cut and paste that same information for each time they send you another message. That way Amazon's system will show that you responded to each message they sent you, potentially a little safer than marking them "No Response Needed". Good luck.

Hello @Seller_zvSfimH8r15bR

Don't try to 'reason' with the buyer. Simply respond to their issue. Their issue is they ordered a food product from you and it is not going to reach them in time for their holiday party. First and foremost you refund the order and then ask them to return it to you at your expense, or donate or dispose of it.

You have a high late shipment rate. You should focus on improving that score or you may find that we suspend your selling account.

I think all the responses have some validity to them, but it mostly depends on the circumstances.

Assuming this was a food item as @SEAmod mentions.

1. Were you late shipping the item? Is so then you will lose an A-z Claim and should probably refund to avoid a Neg. Feedback hit to boot.

2. Is there any chance on it reaching them by the date? If no, and with late shipping, I would refund

3. If you shipped on time I would not refund until and after a return.
