New seller restriction

Good afternoon,
started selling on Amazon at the beginning of the week and all was going fine until today when I received this message:
"We have temporarily removed your ability to submit listings (creating new offers or new ASINs) because an unusually high number of listings have been created from your account. Please refer to the ASIN Creation Policy page (https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/201844590) for more information on how to avoid receiving this error message. If you believe your listing creation privileges have been removed in error, please contact Seller Support by using the following link: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/cu/contact-us.

I am trying to find out what the restrictions are, is it volume, price or a mixture of both? How long are they on for and when will I be able to start listing items again.

I appreciate that they put the restrictions on until you get a good proven track record, that goes without saying I just could do with finding out what they are so I can plan my time efficiently

Thanks in advance!

So maybe it isn’t just the number of listings, but also the number of orders generated from those listings…
Sounds like you are enjoying a successful start though :grinning:

How many listings have you tried to create? [Approx]

I have currently got 185 products in my inventory.

Thing is I have also been on to Amazon seller support and they can’t seem to tell me that there is anything wrong (after 35 minutes conversation) and they have now passed it up to technical support who will ring me back within a day.

OK, so for a short while try concentrating on the ones Amazon let you list, fulfill all orders promptly and efficiently so that Amazon can see a little trading history beginning to develop and then in a month or so if the restriction is still in place try appealing it then, with plausible reasons why you need to be able to add more products.
The safeguard is in place to prevent fly by night newbies listing hundreds of products on a long delivery time, take the money without sending any goods and then running…
[Are your goods fairly expensive?]

Hi,
thanks for the reply. Strange thing is that I am listing products that Amazon already sells, so I’m confused over the ASIN thing as I haven’t created any new ASIN’s as such.

Out of the 185 products, there is about 10% that are greater than £20 with 5 or so items being over £100.
Appreciate that it’s a safeguard in place for fly by night newbies as I had similar sort of restrictions in place when I started out on eBay 6 years ago, I just got over excited with Amazon as I found it was a doddle to list items - it was taking 2 minutes to sell an item as opposed to about 20 for eBay. Should have done it years ago.
