I started using buy shipping as I understood that if buy shipping is used then a-z claims will not affect ODR metric score.
I reached out to seller support but they told me they weren't aware of the buy shipping health protection.

have you appealed as it sounds like u got the automatic response then when you appeal quote the relevant policy back to them and 5 out of 10 you might get it go in your favour lol if not contact the md

You are correct - using Buy Shipping SHOULD protect your account metrics from problems with delivery. Its there in black and white on the Buy Shipping page
Unfortunately, this is often not the case.
You can try opening a case with support and quote the relevant passage and also send a link to the page and occasionally this works - but I have also been told by support that problems with delivery does not include items not received (you really cannot make this up!)
The mods used to be active on the issue. I have spoken to them many times in the past and again they have got a few overturned - but then even they suddenly stopped responding on the issue.
I am sure if you search forum you will find the issue has been reported many times and nothing is ever done about it by Amazon.
I have given up on fighting Amazon on the issue and no longer use Buy Shipping as it does not offer the protection promised.
I normally appeal the A-Z saying this "The policy says "A-to-z Guarantee claims: If you purchase Amazon's Buy Shipping and ship on time, you are protected against a-to-z claims where a customer reports problems with delivery. Those claims will not affect your Order Defect Rate but you are still responsible for the financial loss of these claims." So why is my ODR affected?" and so far they have always refunded me. But for every single claim I had to appeal to sort out my ODR.
