Best / Cheapest Posting Company

I cannot understand for the life of me how some sellers are even making any money. Can anyone recommend another posting company that offers better rates than Royal Mail

I used to use Citylink - when i was posting very large daily quantities. They used to get the bulk discount from Royal Mail and then pass on te discount to their custmers. I think parcel2go might offer something similar.

any recommendations i might be missing something thats stopping me from being able to compete - unless others are not making a profit on some items in order to gain business on others!.

It all depends on what size and weight your parcels/packages are and how many you send.
Bulk discounts are available, and some couriers are cheaper than RM for parcels up to 1kg.

Your post from yesterday said you sell mainly under £5 items and use 1st and 2nd class
Are they letters, large letters or parcels and are they low weight ?

Don’t make the assumption that everyone you are competing against are making profits. It maybe that some do not understand the fees and other costs that it takes to run a business.

Also it not necessarily the postage that is the factor. They maybe buying the actual items cheaper than you are. The difference between buying from a wholesaler and directly from the manufacturer can be significant. Also buying in volume can get you significant discounts.

As others have said Royal Mail for small items is the cheapest and you won’t beat their prices. Some sellers will get discounts on their RM prices which makes them more competitive than the price you will pay over the counter at the post office.

None of this doesn’t mean you can’t make a profit. The best approach is to research your items before you buy it to see what the competition is like and whether you can compete. I still do this before buying new lines.
