Any One Else Noticed An Increase Of French Non-Delivery Recently?

We have noticed quite an increase of French customers contacting us because they haven’t received their orders recently. We have always had more French claiming non-delivery than Germany, but there has been a noticeable increase since end of Jan, It has jumped from around 2% to roughly 6% of orders as undelivered, of course there is still a certain amount of try it on customers, but as our orders are small value, using a tracked service is not cost effective, so we can’t prove it the order has been delivered or not.

We do factor a certain amount of losses into the price of goods, but if we continue getting an increase like that, any more increase in the price of goods will stop them selling.

Oh, and another thing, we hardly ever get returns from France, compared to the number of ‘uncalled for’ or ‘undeliverable’ we receive back from Germany - so where do they all go???!!!

Yes.
France has been an absoulte nightmare for me since the start of year. It’s always been troublesome but the last 3 months have been the worst .fr quarter I’ve ever experienced.

Agreed. I used to have problems mainly with Italy and Spain but now it’s France.

The buyers a bombarding me with angry messages as early as 2 days before the end of the EDD range and demanding full refunds on low value items, already stating that they checked the post office and neighbors. They won’t respond to any contact and immediately open A-Z claims.

It’s really annoying. Never experienced anything like this before.

We have the same problem!
It is absolutely disgraceful, probably even higher than 6% with us,
What I’ve also noticed is that the customers on the French marketplace expect or in some cases demands
to receive a full refund and keep the item too, otherwise threaten you with an A to Z claim.
I myself am on the verge of closing that marketplace as it is way too much trouble and almost no profit for us,
that may not be the case for everyone thought.
Oh also the French Tax laws are something to bare in mind, if you have a turnover grated than EUR 30000 you have to be a VAT registered in France, or at least that’s what I have been let to believe.
Good luck Everyone!

I just answered yet another message from a .fr customer, 4 days before the end of the estimated delivery date who wants a refund because it hasn’t arrived “on time”. Something screwy is going on. They are not even waiting until the estimated delivery dates BEGIN, let alone finish.
Has Amazon screwed up the details being given to the customer and the seller I wonder.

Yes we have seen a huge increase, started for us when the Yellow jackets protests started… but is getting worse each week.

Yes, us the same! We send all our items tracked and signed but still having problems, had one where the tracking shows delivered but no signature, so we had to refund, same customer but shows delivered with a signature and guess what, Amazon has gone in his favour and we now have had our account suspended. After reading this as soon as we get our account reinstated I think we’ll be going on holiday in France and I don’t mean a road trip.

Worth noting I have had emails from Royal Mail and DPD regarding delays due to strikes in Calais which are holding mail up.

Yes - France is now your New Italy.

It has even got to the stage where today I have a claim from a person on .fr for an order we have never received, and consequently never sent ! Google does not handle French well when written colloquially by an irate person so I hope it does not go that way :grimacing:

Yes noticed this too. Get this though…We had a French packet back as not called for the other day, we had originally sent it out standard max sort airmail (no tracking). When it came back, I noticed it had a tracking label attached (French one by La Poste).

So I check what it says on the La Poste site and it showed tracking from destination airport, customer carded etc, not collected and returned to us. So La Poste seem to be adding tracking for the french leg of the journey, at least on this on this one they did, anyone else seen this?

I contacted La Poste and all they could offer was for any customers to call them on 3631 to make a complaint.

Nope. Every one of my parcels were delivered on time with no hiccups. No INR from France for almost 4 years now.
