Primary contact verification

Morning

I’m trying to set up a new account for my company and I’ve reached the step where they’re asking for documents to verify the company details (proof of incorporation etc) and the primary contact person, a.k.a. myself. I sent them a photocopy of my passport + an utility bill from eon but they rejected the latter (no reason stated). The bill had my correct name, address and date.

In the same email they sent a list of documents I can provide so I chose to provide my Three bill initially… but I’ve just noticed the upload button says ‘Bank Statement’. Also, under comments, it says something like ‘Proof of address - Bank Statement - invalid document’.

It looks like they were expecting a bank statement from the beginning even though they list various types of other acceptable documents, such as mortgage statements, utility bills, CT bills etc. Is this why they rejected my eon bill? Because I can’t find any issues with it.

I’ve provided a bank statement now, I hope this is what they want. Can anyone please confirm if indeed Amazon expected this from the beginning?

Also, does it mean that the company documents were accepted and the details verified since they only rejected my proof of address document? Or can they reject those later anyway?

Reading through here I’m super anxious at this point because many people seem to have difficulties signing up as a company.

Many thanks
Hannah

usually you can upload a utility bill for the director but a bank statement is acceptable too - presuming its your personal one and not the company one

they are very specific on everything matching though so if the amazon account says Mrs Jessica Smith, the bill cannot say Mrs J Smith

the company documents will more than likely be looked at separately
is it just you in the company or any other directors or shareholders with a 25% or more stake ?
