Funds available and Total Balance changing

Hey Everyone, this is really just a general clarification type of question. Well actually its something that I can’t help but feel like somewhere I am being cheated out of money. So whats happening is my funds available goes down and my total balance goes down after further sales and postage (usually this is taken like 24hrs later).

Heres an example…

My funds available is say £100 and the total balance is like £500. I then proceed to make a couple of sales say totaling £20 after fees so my total balance goes up to £520. Lets say the postal cost was £3 and there are 2 items going out making £6 postage to be deducted from the account. So the next day both my balances take a dip of £6 so total balance becomes £514 and the funds available is now £94.

What I am wondering is it normal for both balances to be affected like this. As of the start of this week I had about £115 in funds available and now that’s dropped to £81.

The account reserve is a rolling figure. It goes up and down as sales are added to it or drop off, as each sale is dealt with separately. Amazon hold the funds for each sale for 7 days after delivery or the last EDD, plus 7 days, plus up to 7 or 14 days to your next scheduled disbursement date, when the funds will be automatically paid into your bank account, although they will still take a few days to reach it

You are not being cheated out of anything: you just have to wait at least a month to get the proceeds of each sale. Once you can see that funds are available, you can request disbursement yourself and it will be processed the same day, which will usually save you a few days waiting

Yes, shipping costs are taken immediately out of available balance when bought from Amazon and therefore is deducted from your available balance and is reflected in the overall total balance figure.
