For Sellers of Groceries and such
I learnt today from watching the Government Business Committee Sitting today that Amazon have been made to join the CMA. As a result, Amazon and its relevant UK subsidiaries must now comply with the Groceries Supply Code of Practice (The Code).
This Code, which applies to retailers with an annual turnover of more than £1 billion from grocery sales, ensures that they treat their suppliers fairly. For example, it restricts firms from making changes to supply contracts at short notice. It also requires retailers to give an appropriate period of notice if they no longer want to use a supplier and provide reasons for ending the contract.
The rep from CMA said he welcomes hearing from any suppliers who are being mistreated and it would be anonymous. Personally not affected but some might like to know this.

To be honest, I can’t really see that making a great deal of difference to Joe Bloggs, selling a few bags of sugar etc on Amazon.
I can see how it will effect the bigger suppliers, selling directly to Amazon etc and maybe the likes of Morrisons. Or indeed anyone with a vendor account on Amazon.
