Hazmat review puzzlement
Hi,
I got my product “under Hazmat review”.
I provided an exemption sheet, but after the 4 working days nothing changed,
So I contacted customer care and they said I have to upload the SDS of the product. The fact is that the product is composed of ingredients which are not considered hazardous (water and propylene glycol), with an addition of a fragrance. The ingredient “Fragrance” is a proprietary mixture present in an amount well below 1%, thus, according to EU regulation (https://echa.europa.eu/documents/10162/23036412/sds_en.pdf), it doesn’t need to be declared in the safety data sheet.
Yet Amazon insists that I should upload a SDS. Any good advice on how to proceed?
Thanks,
Bepo

Hazmat reviews take a lot of work to get lifted. When you submit the information they request they don’t get back to you to advise whether it has been accepted or not. Keep uploading the SDS or exemption sheet every week or so until it gets removed from Hazmat review.

I would send in the ingredients list and an SDS for Propylene Glycol to prove it’s non-hazardous. I wouldn’t concentrate on the fragrance aspect of it, just list the approximate percentage in the ingredients list.
You should be able to get an MSDS for Propylene Glycol from your supplier or the manufacturer’s website.
Also Seller Support aren’t the Hazmat review team.

Put a name to the fragrance so show it as for example AP6 or E101876 (if it has a reference already to EU regs) - if the maker of the fragrance has a name for it or a part number use that ?

Who knows, Amazon make up things as they go along. They have policies, which have to be conformed to, BUT then the person reading them, or the AI (robot), then can make up a different decision.
It is worth a go though (they may want the actual official chemical names though, or chemical symbols).

Amazon currently want us to prove some batteries are NOT in a mains powered item! - so far it has been at FBA since last June, cannot be sold, nor returned to us, paying storage fees, and not resolved, so good luck! - they take their time
So, we have to prove something is not there, as somehow they think it is. They are a pain!
