Amazon Unfairly Charging Subscription
I was looking into starting FBA back in September 2020, and tried to set up an Amazon seller account.
I registered on 9th September, by the 11th I received an email from Amazon
“Your payments account has failed our verification process. As a result, you can no longer sell on any Amazon’s UK or European Marketplaces. This decision is final and not subject to appeal.”
There was no further reason given, but because of the whole ‘This decision is final and not subject to appeal.’ part, I just thought weird but never mind.
Fast forward to Jan 2021, I realised I was actually being charged a monthly seller subscription fee of £30 a month!
I logged in to the Amazon account, and this says “deactivated”.
The only option in seller support is “Your account has been suspended. At this time, we can only answer questions related to your suspended account status.”
I’ve tried to contact amazon through this multiple times and haven’t got anywhere.
The only forum online I’ve found with a similar issue advised not to close the account on my side as there would be no way to get a refund.
I’ve spent 3 months searching every corner of the account to find a way to resolve this.
I’ve been charged £240 total to date in subscription fees, for a service I’ve never once been able to use.
Can anyone advise me on how to get this refunded?

send an email to seller-performance@amazon.co.uk and managingdirector@amazon.co.uk, explaining the issue in a brief email.

That seems a very strange email to be getting literally 2 days after registering. Are you sure you did not receive any others ?
Also, most emails from Amazon will tell you what you need to do and give links to where to provide any further info they need.

So, for them to be able to take the fees your linked bank account must be OK.
As someone asked earlier, what type of bank account ?
I have one account registered with Amazon for all transactions.

I’ve downgraded my account now, however the account is still ‘deactivated’.
Does anyone know how to contact Amazon outside of Seller Support?
