Fraud by Account Manager - Suggested

My account manager has sent a file to me suggesting I upload this to "improve my account".

Wow, it contains items I do not sell, suggested prices, the lot.

I'm sorry, I do not sell these things. Email address {moderator edit Julia_Amzn, personal data} I do not sell these things. Why would an Amazon rep ask me to list things I do not sell?

“Why would an Amazon rep ask me to list things I do not sell?”

Maybe I’m missing something but why would you expect them to suggest products you already do sell?

I can't see it improving your other sales all it will do is put your account at risk if there are any issues with those listings as you won't have the correct invoices.

If they have suggested you have stock for these listings that is wrong as you can't fulfil the orders.

Are you sure they are just not recommending products that you could sell. Amazon often do this and some of the suggestions are far removed from the actual products you sell.

I would clarify it with your account manager first and if you still have concerns raise it directly with Amazon

I agree - it simply sounds like suggestions of things you could sell, possibly based on the categories you already sell in.

As for them saying it will 'improve your account' - possibly something lost in translation there.

No, these are a mix of things I sell (small percentage) and a list of things I do not sell.

Where can I report this? My first sales rep lied, I am recovering slowly and now this attempt to ruin my account so some sales rep can slam a sales bonus.

Hey there @Seller_KyPZ8FhRtsTto,

As mentioned from the great posts on this thread, I think the notification you received is more of a suggestion.

Hardly just a suggestion @Winston_Amazon, not a notification - an actual phone call followed by an email.

I'll explain what has happened in more detail. It is clear that people have not understood my posts.

An account manager phoned me and started talking about getting into the buy box and the algorithm. He has found a way to cheat the system which involved uploading products with few sellers. Put the delivery to 30 days (the maximum) and people will not want to buy because the delivery is too slow. This can confuse the "buy box" algorithm into putting other items in there if you already have some in the "buy box". Many of your other products will be bumped into the "buy box" if you do this.

Anyway, I agreed to him sending the list but I will add the items to my account if I agree with the data sent.

Elsewhere. I have a website with over 20,000 products but only about 3,000 on Amazon. So here I am expecting a sensible list of products I am already selling (elsewhere). 17,000 products and he (or an AI system or web bot) has found some of the 17,000 to be of interest. I can understand this.

A list is sent and it is ridiculous. A massive Samsung TV, a laboratory valve, a starter motor for a 1932 Rolls Royce. Ok, I got carried away with the last one but things I do not sell. I do not sell anywhere. Not even on my own website.

I am saying this is fraud for two reasons. Firstly, it is trying to manipulate getting into the buy box by trying to trick the Amazon algorithm. Secondly, what if I sell one of these items? Is it not fraud (under UK law) to be deliberately advertising products you know you cannot supply? (Accident is different but deliberate is an offence)

Can I be absolutely honest. My post is more about warning other sellers to ignore this. I am ignoring it - this won't affect my account. It is really weird. Unless my rep is being paid commission on some of these items and is leaving Amazon soon, there is no other explanation.

My email to the manager has been sent to HR who made my account manager call me. It sounded like complete panic and they were fighting to keep their job. I seriously hope HR listened in or recorded the conversation.
