Typical Price No Longer Showing Under Sale Price – Discount Not Displayed?

Hi sellers,

Has anyone else noticed that the “Typical Price” label has disappeared from the product detail page?

Up until last week, my listings showed “Your Price” as “Typical Price” under the Sale Price, and the discount percentage was clearly shown. Now it’s gone, and only the sale price appears.

To customers, this makes it look like there’s no discount at all, even though a Sale Price is set.

I’m also planning to run an additional 20% off for Prime Day, and I’m wondering:

Which price does Amazon use to calculate and display the “% off” discount?

Is it based on:

the List Price,

the Sale Price,

or the Typical Price (which is now missing)?

Any insight or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello @Seller_itEOHZBRXYWpJ,

My name is Dougal from the Community Manager Team and I will be happy to assist. Are you running a Deal or a Promotion?

When you type "Typical Price," are you referring to List Price?

You will need a list price in order to show that strikethrough from your deals and promotions. You can reference this on the Show a reference price on your products by providing a List Price help page.

If you are running a deal, you are setting that deal price based on the maximum price listed on the deals dashboard. This does show a crossed out list price and red % off, You can find more info on the Create a Deal help page. Keep in mind, for deals to surface, you product and Seller need to meet requirements which are listed on the Amazon Deals help page.

If you are running a promotion, this varies on the type of promotion and how you are building (and potentially stacking) your promotion. You can find those details on the Create a promotion help page.

Have you opened a Seller Support case for this yet? If so, please provide that case ID here and I can take a look at the ASIN and promotion or deal specifically to help troubleshoot.

Best, Dougal
