Its a thank you and Goodbye

Hello my friends

It is now come the time for me to say a goodbye to you, the business has been sold, the new owners are in place(verification took 36hours) and they are chomping at the bit to get started.
I really hope that you help and guide them as you did with me. Some of you may remember I came on here last June when my son Chris who owned the business then died very suddenly, with no prior warning what seemed a young and very healthy 36 year old.
Of the few thing he told me, was to reach out on here if you ever need anything, and oh my word was he right, I am not ashamed to say I was in a very dark place and needed all the help could get from anyone.
I posted on here asking for some help, the response was nothing short of amazing and I promise each of you, it pulled me through. I was going to throw the towel in and just sell the stock, but some of you said just go into holiday mode and sort things out and come back and we will help. And oh my God how you did, the many private messages of support and assistance in what seems now as second nature. Even I suppose you could call it counselling as my mind was everywhere, I was so “green” it was untrue and yes I made mistakes, some so basic it seems silly now. But this forum and its brilliant members got me through it, and each week got a little smoother and less stressful. I am sure at some point you have all been at the point were you dread the red flag notification or the seller performance email. Thinking what am I going to do? they will close me down, until the guidance and sometimes patience you have had with me helps you realise, it’s not always so a dark place.
Then the times come when you can actually read and have a laugh at the banter to help relieve the tensions of the day. Amazon can be a hard task master, but the rewards are there to be had, once you manage to keep on the right path.
But I came out of retirement to sort out Christophers company, and thanks to the help/guidance of others we managed to do it. It is now in a very healthy position, the new owners are huge and will take it I hope to another level. One condition was they kept his company name, so you may still see it around.
But the time has come to spend some time with my wife and grandchildren, the restrictions are easing weekly and hopefully soon the dreadful time we have all experienced will have passed.
Like I am sure many of you, I have lost friends to this dreadful virus, I had the horrible experience a few weeks ago of my sisters funeral with only 10 people present, its just not the way to say our goodbyes.
I am for a very short while going to assist the new people to find their feet on the Amazon platform.
Never thought I could have said that 12 months ago, so it shows how far I have come?
But before I go and try to enjoy what time I have with my loved ones.
I needed to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone here for what you have done for me, you may not realise that sometimes a few simple words of encouragement goes way further than you can ever think.
So to all you newbies on here it is simple, read the polices then read them again and what you don’ t understand, then reach out and ask, there is no shame in not knowing everything, you will find help and guidance on here. You may not like at times what they are telling you, but listen to experience it will always help you through troubled waters.
Thank you so much everyone you will never be forgotten, keeping helping each other, keep guiding each other and keep being there for each other it will help with those sleepless nights we have.
All my love and respect to each of you guys.
Derek

Hi Derek
I am so pleased that you have been able to sort things out. You were one of the first to reply to this thread of mine:

Backing up your account in the event of loss

which was very appropriate to your particular situation. You have done extremely well in very, very difficult circumstances and I’m absolutely certain that Christopher would be very proud of what you have managed to achieve, despite all the pitfalls and difficulties involved. I wish you all the very best and hope that you get to spend some quality time with your family now. Very well deserved.
Take care, stay safe
Ian

Dear Derek,
Chris would be so proud of you and what you achieved on his behalf, continuing the business at the most difficult and lowest point in your life.
You have my utmost admiration and best wishes for the future.
Thank you for your kind words.
Take care
Bisous

Dear Derek,
You have brought a tear to my eyes, and I cannot really add anything to what Tracey has already said - you have been through such a terrible time, and come out the other end - one of my own sons is the same age as Christopher - and I cannot imagine how you have coped - but so glad that you have been able to pass on the business, and hope and pray that you can really treasure the time now to spend with your wife and family.
Wishing you and yours all the best, and renewed happiness to make the most of every day, as we never know what tomorrow will bring as you know only too well.
Your post is very encouraging. Blessings.
