Account locked!
Hi guys so my amamzon account has been locked and it says I need to enter a card but why because my bank account and sort cord are already linked for the payments. But anyways I did have a debit card on system but someone stole my purse and it was in there so I informaed the bank and they closed it. Then amamzon said upload a new card but when I try using another it doesn’t let me so I rang them and the amamzon centre said they only accept credit cards?! Is this true because I had a debit card on file before and why do they need this if I have my account already on system?

And if it’s true and I need a credit card where can I get one because I’ve never had any before so no credit history. I really want one of them fancy American Express ones because they look trendy

Yes, you can use a debit card, I believe, despite what Amazon SS said, but you will have to upload new details if the one that is stolen has been cancelled.

You aren’t banking with Starling are you? My debit card failed verification a while ago and i couldn’t get it re-verify so ended up using an HSBC debit card

I have a debit on mine.
And the news was that Amazon would no longer accept Visa credit cards as the fees for processing payments on them was too high - They came to an agreement with Visa though and are still accepting them.

If you reported your Barclays card stolen, they should send a replacement with a different long number. When you receive it, try that one, especially if the account has worked before for Amazon.

You can use a debit card. I had to update mine today. I’m with Natwest and they’ve changed from Visa debit cards to Mastercard Debit so completely new numbers. Once I entered the card details Amazon took me to a payment screen for £1 and my bank sent me a code to approve it. They then verified the new payment method straight away.

If you are blocked how can you post here ? And amazon only blocks for a reason not just like from fun … Or you are blocked only from makeing listings ? Cause i dont understand these posts .
But anyway if you are blocked you only need a new credit card with a top bank, and you just add the card details to the Settings / Account info / Charge Method https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/on-board/configuration/single-section/global-billing.html?ref_=macs_aichrgvw_alrt_acinfohm
then you wait for 3 days max and they approve you and you can list again !
