Help a newbie pls.shipping options RM

im kind of new on here. Im hoping to sell some of my lightweight items (50 - 500g) as FBM . im wondering if this is ok to send them as RM 1st/2nd class non-tracked or should it be tracked?
They are relatively cheap items and wondering if i can save more on sending them RM 1st/2nd class rather than tracked?
Also is it advisable to use the buy shipping option or just go to RM website

It is fine to send them standard RM 1st/2nd class , in fact waste of money sending tracked if low value. If over £20/25 value then I would send tracked as standard mail are only covered up to £20,whereas signed for is up to £50.
‘Buy Shipping’ should be OK as does cover you in cases of INR, BUT there has been a glitch which we do not know if it has been sorted out yet, whereby they were counting as invalid rather than exempt for VTR.
There are signs that it might have been fixed but no on knows yet. You can use RM website too and then you need to confirm shipment manually by choosing Royal Mail from the first dropdown.
