FBA order to ROI, but I'm UK only?
I turned all my non-UK marketplaces to holiday mode since all the new VAT rules kicked in this summer (I’m not VAT registered). I’m 100% FBA and UK only. All my items are the same price (£17.99), so when I noticed an order on Monday which was £18.44, I wondered why… It stayed in pending for a couple of days, until now it is confirmed, an FBA order to an address in the republic of Ireland.
They took the UK VAT off my selling price making it 14.99, then added on the Ireland 23% VAT to make it 18.44. In the order details, it shows they also paid £3 shipping on top.
Anyway the end result is I get to keep £9.06 after the many deductions that I don’t understand, I usually get £12.70 for that product.
Have I missed an announcement? Are Amazon finally taking order from outside the UK and sorting out the VAT (like eBay have been for years)? Is there a reason why I get less than usual from this sale?

FBA Export has been around a very long time and never stopped after Brexit - i assume the order came through that. You can remove countries at will through your FBA Settings or turn it off completely. FBA Export allows buyers to purchase from your UK listings - yes Amazon sort everything out.

Thanks, I don’t recall this happening before. Its called a ‘Marketplace facilitator order’ in the order details is that what you call FBA Export?
With me not being VAT registered, I don’t agree with them taking VAT off my price, is that just how it works?

Thank you both, yes its turned on, i’ll have to download many 30 day FBA reports to see how often this has happened!
Is the VAT thing just another kick for us small sellers? They know I’m not registered, so why deduct it?
