USPS Rate Increase Over The Weekend
I've been doing some shipments that came in on Sunday and this morning and the rates have gone up like crazy on some of the stuff. Usually furthest for 4 oz and 8 oz are $4.36 and $4.68 respectively for example but now I'm seeing anywhere from $0.50 to a $1.50 increase. Is this correct? Seems like a huge jump even for the holiday rate increase. I found below the information from the USPS.
Priority Mail and USPS Ground Advantage: Zone 1-4
• Commercial:
o $0.30 cents increase for Zones 1-4, 0-3 lbs.
o $0.45 cents increase for Zones 1-4, 4-10 lbs.
o $0.75 cents increase for Zones 1-4, 11-25 lbs.
o $3.00 increase for Zones 1-4, 26-70 lbs.
Priority Mail Zone 5-9
o $0.70 cents increase for Zones 5-9, 0-3 lbs.
o $1.25 increase for Zones 5-9, 4-10 lbs.
o $2.75 increase for Zones 5-9, 11-25 lbs.
o $7.00 increase for Zones 5-9, 26-70 lbs.
USPS Ground Advantage Zone 5-9
o $0.35 cents increase for Zones 5-9, 0-3 lbs.
o $0.75 cents increase for Zones 5-9, 4-10 lbs.
o $1.25 increase for Zones 5-9, 11-25 lbs.
o $5.50 increase for Zones 5-9, 26-70 lbs
Also, it states it should've gone into effect October 6 so why are we just seeing them now?

I think there is something wrong. I am trying for example to do a shipment to the east coast and 1-3 oz is showing $4.97, which is wrong since according to the chart above should be $4.71, but then at 4 oz it jumps to $5.03 until 7 oz and at 8 oz it goes to $5.97 until 11 oz and then 12 oz it jumps to $7.50! I think it's definitely screwed up cause it should be the same rate for 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-15.99.

Doesnt everyone remember when Amazon Buy Shipping had an additional $0.30 add to shipping for "insured amount"? This was going directly into Amazon's pocket and disappeared when First Class Shipping went away.

Amazon needs to be held accountable for this as changing shipping rate tiers to lower than standard so they can overcharge sellers is not acceptable and not even sure it is legal as they did not announce this change giving sellers chance to up every item they sell to meet this drastic change in prices. It is costing us a couple hundred a day right now!

It's like they took the temp USPS holiday increase added it to shipping rates wile screwing with the weight ranges as now shipping on Amazon does not match USPS as Amazon is a whole price bracket higher so how long will this go on and my guess is if it gets corrected Amazon will not reimburse sellers for the over charge.

For the same shipping if I use Amazon's Buy Shipping, I am being charged approximately 17 percent more in shipping charges than if I buy the shipping myself through stamps.com. The problem here is that if you don't buy the shipping through Amazon you are not covered with your "OTDR" or claims protected. How does that work? If you don't pay us more than the actual shipping cost you're not protected.

Hello @Seller_gatjkdfPmzT4O @Seller_SdW5RxmUr27dl @Seller_z1JDNz6de1lqc and all other sellers asking about USPS shipping rates.
First: USPS has implemented temporary rate changes for the 2024 holiday shipping season. This peak-season pricing affects Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail and USPS Ground Advantage. These rate changes have been applied to Amazon Buy Shipping beginning yesterday, October 28.
However, as you and other sellers pointed out: there is an issue with Ground Advantage rate thresholds for shipments under one pound. I shared these seller reports with our partner team, and they confirmed that there is an issue and that they are working to correct it. I will follow up in the forums when I receive updates, but a fix is being worked on.

Only 2 percent inflation... so we get another 8% USPS rate increase... The 2nd one this year.
Just the usual...
