Did USPS Price Change happen over the weekend?
Usually, USPS Ground Advantage is one price for packages between 1 and 4 ounces.
Starting at 5 ounces (and up to 8 ounces), it goes up another tier.
As of this morning, it looks like the price between 1 and 8 ounces is about the same. Maybe off by a penny between one ounce and 7.9 ounces.
I am trying to look up if there was a USPS change but I am not seeing any announcement. Anyone else seeing this kind of pricing with Ground Advantage packages being about the same price between 1 and 8 ounces now?
(This actually is bad for us as sellers because previously, any package under 5 ounces was about 30 cents less, and now that margin has been eliminated, making it cost the same as a package that is 7.9 ounces).
EDIT: I just checked in my third party software as well and it appears to be the same, so this looks to be a global USPS change. I just don't see where it was announced on the USPS website for a change specifically happening over the weekend.

Hello @Seller_bheaXZx5cQzTQ. Thank you for that question about USPS shipping rates.
Several sellers have asked about USPS rate updates over the past day, and I have shared these questions with our partner teams.
First: USPS has implemented temporary rate changes for the 2024 holiday shipping season. This peak-season pricing affects Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail and USPS Ground Advantage. These rate changes have been applied to Amazon Buy Shipping beginning yesterday, October 28.
However, as you and other sellers pointed out: there is an issue with Ground Advantage rate thresholds for shipments under one pound. The team confirmed that there is an issue and that they are working to correct it. I will follow up in the forums, including the below topic, when I receive updates, but a correction is being worked on.

Does this mean that sellers will be stuck with a "price adjustment" at some future date after they figure out that we've all been under-charged?

seeing shipping prices jumping all over the place. Do we know when this will be fixed?
Oh, but I see the new button colors got implemented properly, of all the ridiculous things to be changing.

Yes. For the Christmas rush.
Just like last year.
But it did not end.
It became a permanent change.

I have updates to share regarding questions about USPS shipping from earlier this week:
- USPS implemented temporary rate changes for the 2024 holiday shipping season. These were applied to Amazon Buy Shipping beginning Monday, October 28.
- Some sellers including @Seller_bheaXZx5cQzTQ reported that pricing / rate tiers were incorrect for some Ground Advantage shipments under one pound. The team confirmed there was an issue and a correction was implemented.
- Any correction credits due as a result of #2 above will be applied as carrier shipping adjustment credits for the difference between the paid and actual shipping charge. USPS processes adjustments in periodic batches, so please keep an eye out for any orders/adjustments you believe are due.
