Account at risk because of Invoice Defect Rate

I am using the VAT service provided by Amazon. My application has been submitted to the UK government and it apparently takes a month or so.

However, every week or two I get an email from Amazon saying "We have found that you have violated a policy, so that your account is at risk of being deactivated."

In the email, it says that my invoice defect rate is over 5%:

"""

Why did I receive this message?

We have observed that your Invoice Defect Rate has exceeded the threshold of 5%. The Invoice Defect Rate is all orders from Amazon Business customers for which an invoice was not uploaded within one business day after shipment as a percentage of total orders from Amazon Business customers. The Amazon Business invoicing policy can be found here.

What can I do to avoid account deactivation?

Please ensure that you no longer violate the above policy by providing Amazon Business customers with a valid VAT invoice (or a receipt, if you are not legally obliged to issue a VAT invoice) for each order within one business day after order dispatch is confirmed. You do not need to submit a plan of action to us at this time.

"""

However, I don't have mu VAT yet so I can't fix it. Is there a way to prevent suspension?

This is the US selling forums, VAT invoices don't apply here, you might have better luck in the UK Selling forums for an answer.

Hi @Seller_5pRlzTMI3W8Z0,

Thank you for your post and the performance notification you have shared. I understand you are dealing with an Invoice Defect Rate issue (IDR).

While @Seller_7LrAV0m5llaI7 is correct in their guidance regarding finding further assistance in the UK section of the forums, I did want to briefly reach out.

While the VAT verification process is ongoing, you may continue to receive these messages. You may also be seeing an "At Risk" banner on your Account Health page. The IDR has a rolling window of seven days.

After this time frame has passed, all affected orders will fall off the downloadable report and will no longer affect the IDR at that point in time. Once these orders roll off, you will see the metric come back toward the target of 5%. Additionally, any orders fulfilled with valid invoices will also assist with bringing the metric back to the goal as well.

If you are seeing the "At Risk" banner, you may end up seeing a yellow "Submit appeal" button. If this button does populate, you will need to take action on the account by following the workflow page you will see after clicking on that button. If no such button is visible within the banner, you will not need to take any action.

Please feel free to reach out with any further questions or account updates, and we will assist you as best we can.

Regards,

Troy
