It depends on what you mean by three listings?
You mean three different methods of fulfilment?
Three fulfilment methods the same on the same ASIN?

If the seller had different listings and have now been merged this could be a reason. As each offer on each listing is merged too.

However, it could also be listing practice manipulation. By having different listings on the same ASIN they’re increasing their Buy Box win percentage.

However, proving either way or getting Amazon to do anything may be difficult.

Just don’t be tempted to do the same. It’s a violation of Amazon policies and if you’re caught you can be penalised.

I believe you can have 3 (or possibly 4?)

1 merchant fulfilled
1 FBA
1 FBA Small and light
1 SFP???

If there have other sellers with offers on the listing too, then the answer to why has been given above.

My competitors are Black Hat sellers. The reasons they have 2 offers are as follows:
-1 is for lightning deals. They keep the price high on the 1, so with lightning deals they don’t have to price too low.
-Often, these sellers have high NCX rates, meaning offers get temporary removed by Amazon until a POA is provided and approved. During this time, the seller will lose sales since their offer with high NCX will be removed temporarily. Hence the 2nd offer gets the buy box and sales can continue.

1 x FBM (Seller Fulfilled SKU)
1 x FBA (Comingled Pooled / Shared Inventory - Stickerless) - an old SKU listing pre 02nd November 2019
1 x FBA (Recently Introduced Amazon Labelled for non PAN-EU Sellers / or sellers who were previously PAN-EU, but are no longer eligible) - this listing would be a new SKU post 02nd November 2019… Any new future FBA stock would be sent into FBA on this new SKU listing)

Are they all in the same condition? I have the same item listed at different prices sometimes dependant on New, Like New, Very Good, Good, Acceptable.

I am open to correction but, for used items, it’s quite possible to have the same product in different conditions and/or for sale at different prices in different marketplaces. For example, a used book could be for sale at a lower price in the UK only, but at a higher price for sale in Europe/the US to cover additional postage costs. I don’t do this myself because all my items are one-offs, except for books I’ve written myself where I might have a few copies listed under both ‘New’ and ‘Used - Like New’ at different prices.

We will occasionally have the same ASIN listed twice on FBA when Amazon switch an item from Manufacturer’s barcode to Amazon barcode or vice versa

Multiple listings can be for a number of reason and is generally against identical products. I wouldn’t say there is an advantage when it comes to the buy box, I would say multiple listings is a disadvantage as it will split the buy box win potential between the listings.
I have had multiple listings when I have selected pan eu, for some reason my single listing became visible in all Countries for each Country. Hard to explain but basically because I was advertising the same ASIN in 5 Countries and could be shipped from each Country, each Country had 5 listings for the same product. It was a nightmare to correct but having multiple listings by the same seller is disadvantageous to the seller doing it.
Worst thing you can do is copy what they are doing because you may trigger something on your account causing a breach and prevention is always better than cure.
Concentrate on getting the buy box win percentage on the one listing you have, you will reap the benefits of this. Multiple listings dilute the search just as much if not more for the seller with the multiple listings.
You can gain percentage on buy box with fba, pan eu and price competitiveness.

If you sell MFN and change your listing to FBA, Amazon shows both listings on ther martketplace.
Before you could swop between both seamlessly but no now. Thats just for two listing though, not three.
