Standard 1st and 2nd class letters

for anyone that sends items untracked letters across all platforms through royal mail noticing an increase in missing items? we accept we lose the odd one but the items we sell cost less than tracked postage so we just take the hit as there is good profit in it so we can afford to lose the odd one. but some days I’m losing 10% of the order i sent out.
Maybe my sorting office just likes losing items and this is isolated.

Yes, if it doesn’t get a scan it’s almost guaranteed INR lately.
I think self-proclaimed gurus are giving advice somewhere on how to get stuff for free and boost your bank account.

Also, on the other platform, I’ve got my first ever chargebacks for transactions not recognised, all for orders older than 4-5 months. Luckily, I kept records and challenged them by uploading screenshots of the orders and so far won them all!

I have a very small rate of loss, I put in a claim when I get 10 items missing and the last time I put in a claim I forgot to watch the dates, so couldn’t claim for about 3 of them as they were too old.

I post about 1,000 a month so estimate my losses are less than 0.5%.

Most of mine are letters, sent untracked, also greeting cards though maybe we have an honest bunch Kris  or its not worth them lying etc to steal something worth a few quid.

I have noticed a lot more letters etc are getting stuck in the sacks, had someone local bring me a lot that they found in the bottom. I asked the postman about it and he agreed that they don’t shake them out like they used to.

I’ve had my first ‘Not received’ for years, a large letter item.

We have had more large letters go missing recently than ever before. The items were quite light and thin so will look into putting them into an A5 board back envelope, never thought of that until reading it just now though we regularly receive sacks with little envelopes in the bottom

Strange you should say that many we have had all of sudden find the order when we say we will ask Royal Mail delivery office to investigate giving information about how order was packed and any disgusting packing such as bright yellow postal bag etc.

We have had a surge in large letters not arriving, or arriving very late in the last 2 weeks

unfortunately - there are more people seeing there is no tracking number and asking for a refund.
