My buyers are really winding me up these days!
A customer has ordered something, tried it on and it dissent fit, not a problem, send it back for a smaller one for a refund… I sent a label and this is the reply I got! How can I report him to Amazon for treating me with AtoZ so causally like this!?
Hi there,
I would like a return label sent.
As mentioned by Amazon’s return policy, the statutory rights include that the return shipping costs of Shoes, Clothing and Jewellery is to be refunded due to the nature of sizing not fitting. Amazon’s policy is inline with statutory rights.
I would like a delivery confirmation label sent or for my shipping costs to be refunded when shipping by a trackable as suggested by returns policy. I will open an A-Z claim if this is not done.
Thanks and stay safe,

They are obviously not getting the reply.
Try sending a message with the label, with the subject line “Important”.
Or alternatively, send a label via the post instead.

Did you actually open the return request though, because that would generate a label without you having to create one and send it ? Sounds like you may not have accepted the return request.

You need to be aware of the following if you are selling clothing items.
As mentioned by Amazon’s return policy, the statutory rights include that the return shipping costs of Shoes, Clothing and Jewellery is to be refunded due to the nature of sizing not fitting. Amazon’s policy is inline with statutory rights.
The customer is 100% right both with Amazon Policy and Selling Regulations. Basically if it does not fit, the seller has to cover return postage!
It is a very unfair rule, but just the way it is!

As everyone else has said YOU have to pay the return cost with unwanted clothing and shoes. I would suggest you infotrm them though which courier and at what cost, otherwise they will choose Special Delivery 9am and you have to pay that.
Something like Hermes are cheap, ensure they use tracking and you decide if you want signed for, or not. If you have a Royal Mail account, raise a Tracked 48 Returns Label (you only pay for those if used).
HOWEVER, if the item is NOT as new when received back, tags cut off, etc, then you can charge a fee (Amazon suggest 50% previously to us)

Generally the courier cost should be on Amazon’s account.

This is the reason I don’t want to get into selling clothing on Amazon! You’d have to have extremely high margins to be able to cover all these extra costs of sending and returning sizing that doesn’t fit. And the fact is, customers will hardly ever measure themselves to ensure they get the right size.

There is nothing like free returns on all fashion products , and no - it was not recently changed.
Free returns are on prime orders , and you can see if your item offer free returns simply looking at your listing as suggested in the policy above.
Please compare the two ASINS : B0875GVC7G , B0773B4LZP
One is prime - buyer can see that the seller provides free postage and free return
The other one is merchant fulfilled - there is a information regarding the free postage but no information regarding free returns .
Most of the buyers are fine when they get unpaid returns labels some are not. It is always best to provide those few with the prepaid labels as A-Z can seriously affect your account and amazon support are simply unaware of the policies and you can be penalised.
Here’s the key point of the policy that you can show to your buyer if you wish to go there :

You do have to offer free returns on certain catergories, like clothing, jewellery, shoes, wathches….see this link
and before someone says that is only for FBA orders it states in the following link that Marketplace sellers have to offer the same or better returns policies than Amazon
