Seller fulfilled prime ...is it worth it?
Afternoon
Contemplating signing up for SFP
Just wondering about people’s general thoughts and experiences ?
My issue is I sell items mainly £10-£13 range so would have to up my prices a fair bit
Presuming its approx £5 to ship tracked …Anyone got an accurate price for large letters weighing 150 g approx ?
Be great to hear your opinions
Thanks in advance

If you are looking at using RM Tracked 24, you’ll need to agree contracted pricing with your RM account manager and get it set up on your account and link it to amazon
Unfortunately unless you are sending high volume , you’ll be lucky to beat the ‘Joe public’ pricing currently on offer which is approx £3.50 for that format so possibly looking at roughly £3 to £4 although you may want to specifically request letterbox tracked if they are LLs
Are you also aware you must ship 6 days a week ?

The obvious question here, is why do you want to use SFP?
If the items can easily be sent with FBA, then your probably better off using FBA.
It certainly cheaper, unless you are sending very large quantities.
You also have to consider the additional manpower/expense required, to pick, pack and post items as well.
SFP fits well, for items that are generally slow moving and would benefit with the prime badge.
Though if you are selling on multiple sites and want to retain control of stock and the shipping process, then it can work as well.
If the majority of your items are LL size, then you should be looking at Small and Light.
There are big savings to me made with the FBA fees.

Thanks for the posts here! So, after reading these posts what do you think @print4ucouk1?

The questions then would be, how would the prices then compare with your competitors and if they are higher, would the SFP compensate to some extent due to having faster delivery than your competitors?

Thanks guys
Don’t spend any time on forums so really appreciate your input
I guess I didn’t give you enough info
We already use FBA for good sellers and ship the rest ourselves because we make everything to order…Have a long established warehouse …Novelty t shirts aprons etc and have over 100K sku’s so obviously lots of slow sellers but the long lead times Amazon are applying to FBM items are killing our sales
Also our personalised items were flying but again long lead times have slowed these down hence looking at SFP
Will look into it deeper and see if I can test a percentage of sku’s
Thanks agaion …Any more help greatly appreciated

For me personally, i think speed is one of the greatest factors to Amazon. Most people associate Amazon with ordering an item and receiving it quickly.
My suggestion would be what you are doing and utilise FBA. I would send more lines in to FBA than use FBM. I know FBA is not perfect but for the costs associated is excellent value. The postal strikes are still not resolved and these have also had a massive knock on effect on the other couriers performance too. These have hit my sales hard over the Christmas period and in hindsight i should have had much more stock in FBA!
I would also like to add. I read the main forum topics regularly and would like to thank the usual suspects who contribute to these threads. You offer amazing advice when you don’t have to and for not a lot of reward really!
Wish you all the best for the new year

I signed up and then got a warning about my settings for weekend dispatch. SFP immediately suspended and I put my setting s right but was then asked to do a POA to reinstate it.
I wouldn’t mind but there was nothing wrong with my metrics, it was purely the settings they had a beef with.
I wrote on my case that I had changed the setting but they couldn’t be bothered to respond so I left it and haven’t been bothered to get back in touch with them again.
It is just additional stress and IMHO no ots not worth it especially if like me you do FBA and offer premium shipping.

I used this for a few months - jumped through all the hoops to get set up. A couple of items we sent via Royal Mail were not delivered in time resulting us losing our seller prime service. Despite us always sending in time it was all a little too stressful when deliveries are out of our hands.
We were recently offered the chance to go back which I won’t be doing. It may have changed and be made easier but from what I remember it was stressful, expensive and not that profitable for us.

I USE ONLINE ROYAL MAIL ALL THE TIME. I GET EMAILS CONFIRMING PICKUP ETC AND CAN QUICKLY SEE DELIVERY. LARGE LETTER UP TO 250g IS £1.65

Personally, we did find it difficult to manage. No, it’s not unless you are an FBA seller. (I believe they call them FBA those who are managed by AMZ.) It’s stressful and they want you to ship at Weekends as well and have a Sunday delivery service. At an additional cost to you. It’s not worth it if you work with branded products as the margin is usually less than 2-8%. If you work with your own brand then it’s worth looking into it.
