Hermes Delivery Reschedule Text Message Beware

I’ve just received a text message with a link to reschedule a Hermes delivery or, they say, it will be returned to the sender. I’ve uploaded a screenshot of the message. This a known scam message. It’s from a UK mobile number 07305001269 - BEWARE

Obviously I didn’t click on the link

Thanks for information. I had a text message to my mobile phone claiming to be inland revenue. I added the phone number to my contacts list then noticed this contact was also on WhatsApp. I looked on WhatsApp and discovered there was a profile picture of two individuals sending scam text messages.

I had one of those last week. I’ve also had some from RM as well. Easy to be fooled as they always seem to coincide when you are waiting on a parcel. The one I had from Hermes was when I was expecting one from DPD

Hermes usually just come up as Hermes with no number. They never mention Hermes in the text or even on any links they provide. They also tell you that they’ve rescheduled it and for when, they don’t ask you to do it.

If HMRC does contact you - they always require you to log in to your account to get the full details of why they’ve contacted you. Better still - get your accountant to deal with all HMRC related queries.

As a simple rule for us, DO NOT click on any link in a cell phone or email even if your grandfather from heaven sent it.
Starting from this position gives you a good chance to avoid trouble.
