Read onlyHi
I sell a number of medical supplies disabled people ( wheelchair products etc ) that my customers should be able to purchase without VAT by declaring their situation. On Amazon there is no way for 3rd party sellers to give customers a declaration form.
Either the customer pays full 20% VAT or I can leave a very clear notice stating that the item they are buying is 0% VAT and it customers are self declaring they are eligible by buying the product.
Will this kind of notice be acceptable, i just wondered what other sellers do in this situation ?
Thank you

As a marketplace seller I believe you charge the VAT and then you are responsible for issuing VAT refunds to eligible customers. I assume they send the declaration form to you as a message attachment, however I could be wrong. If @Seller_zDUw7ekrB6OEy sees this thread they maybe kind enough to offer better informed advice.
I'm not sure you would be able to do this as it is specific to your business and this is against Amazon policy.
On some other marketplaces you have the option to set 2 price options, one VAT exempt and one VAT included, but not on Amazon. If you listed without VAT there are many pitfalls. Is this allowed by HMRC? What if the person buying it isn't disabled, just recovering or buying for someone else that is disabled (how do you get the declaration)? What if a business buys the item?
Selling with the VAT you may end up doing a few partial refunds, you would have to do it with price match as the reason. Your price will be 20% higher than any seller who is not putting VAT on.
If you are selling continence products then you can sell without the VAT but you will have to take a hit on the 20% if a business orders.
