Seller Bank Problems

For the last three months I have received regular e-mails informing me I can’t be paid as my bank details aren’t correct. The very first time was true as I hadn’t updated a card that had been replaced. I have tried to correct it every time and the details held are already correct. I have had to change the passowrd so often that every time I log into the Seller Account I have to enter a Two Stage process and input a code number which often seems not to work. I have other stuff I want/need to sell on the platform but whilst this problem (over a massive <£2!) persists I am loath to do so.

You can’t even speak to anyone about problems you are having.

And another e-mail from them:

Greetings from Amazon Services Europe,

We were unable to verify the credit card information you provided for your seller account. Common reasons for this occurrence are as follows:

  1. Invalid card number, expiration date, or cardholder name. Incorrect billing address not matching the bank’s records.
  2. Your card expired.
  3. Bank limits or policies that prevent the charge attempt from being accepted.
  4. Card is a pre-paid credit card.
  5. The card was configured as an exception to a specific marketplace but the card does not accept charges in that currency.

For billing and security purposes, all Amazon sellers must provide valid credit card information from a credit card acceptable by Amazon. Payment will be suspended until your credit card information has been updated. For instructions on how to update credit card information in your seller account, search for Credit Card Information for Your Seller Account in Seller Help.

Once your credit card information has been updated and verified, payment will be initiated on your next settlement date. Additionally, any fees owed for this settlement period will be charged to the credit card on your next settlement date.

If you believe that your credit card information was entered correctly and that you have received this message in error, please contact your bank for verification.

Thank you for selling on Amazon.
Amazon Services Europe

I too had this problem a few timea over last 3/4 months , was eventually told my account balance needed to be over £5. on day transfer to go through. I have noticed that 1.00 is taken and reserved everu time a payment is due to be paid. As account t is purely for amazon since i know this i make aure their is always 5.00 or more in account when payment due.

You need to ensure you have £1 in the account the card is attached to as well, every time Amazon send a payment it pre-authorises your card with a £1 or 1 Euro pre-auth. If you don’t have the money in your account, your payment doesn’t happen and you are told to reenter your card details in order to get paid.

We have had this when there has not been funds in the account. It’s highly annoying and frustrating having to do account transfers and putting in card details again to get money that is yours and it’s just crazy as Amazon are giving you YOUR money so why you need to have money in the account for them to put money in is beyond me!!!

My account is often in authorised overdraft which I pay for. The worst is you can’t even speak to anybody about anything. Not content with tax avoidance they without payments!

It’s more expensive to sell, but it will have to be back to e-Bay. I can’t be doing with restrictions on money owed to me. I can’t even figure out how much is owed to me. I think it is less than £2!

Hi,

Are you sure these are not scam emails, they sound like it to me. Do you get them on your Amazon home page or only via email ? if the latter they are almost certainly scammers after your card details.

Do not reply to any emails supposedly from Amazon, unless you get them in your seller account home page.

It’s from Amazon as I get a reply to changes within seconds and they appear on my Seller Account Notifications page.

No idea then. Everytime I input it I get a reply within 30 seconds confirming my payment has been cancelled.

I’ve got some stuff to sell that is in excess of £30 but can’t be kept waiting.
