Processing today's orders we noticed AFTER purchasing shipping labels through Amazon Buy Shipping that the customer on one order provided and invalid address (see below)
Customer Name (which also seems incorrect with 4 sur or last names)
La Quinta Avenid
New York, NY 10001
Order ID: # 113-5751545-8856265
This is clearly incorrect. Why isn't Amazon validating shipping addresses?
Carriers, other platforms and even shipping software or PayPal will question incomplete or invalid addresses.
This order came through and has no valid street address???!!!!
What are we supposed to do?? And with Amazon the seller is always going to take the $ hit which they should not have to.
Again this was noticed AFTER Priority mail was purchased. If you happen to notice and cancel for incorrect address the sellers health gets hit. As it is shipping paid was not was not covering actual shipping cost and Amazon deducted it hefty commissions.
If we ship to the incorrect address it will certainly be returned as undeliverable and we get the parcel back resulting in various possible outcomes, none of which will cover the seller.
- Returned and we will have to refund ..withholding outgoing shipping fees the customer paid (which is less than actual shipping label cost ...never mind the loss associated in handling (box/packing materials). Amazon still keeps a portion of processing and shipping fees.
- Refund in total including all shipping paid by the buyer and address with Safe-T claim...wasting time and you may or may not be refunded or refunded the correct amount. Here too Amazon will take something and your will absorb the $ loss
- A to Z is unlikely to be opened as undeliverable parcel by USPS should theoretically return back to the seller. A to Z is preferred as Amazon would fund but only if lost.
Again This theoretically is a customer And Amazon Has allowed this. We, the sellers should not be financially responsible for incorrect addresses.
What are we supposed to do?
Amazon Mods can you chime in here?
