Hi @Seller_LaTJHWfizcdD3,
to answer your questions:
1. **What are the specific consequences for not adhering to the new product title requirements after January 21, 2025?**
Starting 1/21, the Brand owners of non-compliant titles will start getting notified of their non-compliant titles in batches, along with a compliant title suggestion. This saves their time in recreating titles and provides them a 14 day window there on to comply. If they wish to create their own titles, they are free to do so as well. We rely on the seller judgement on whether to truncate or not. Auto truncation might lead to unintended consequences; so we are not doing that.
If the title is not updated, Amazon will modify the product title to comply with the new policy while retaining all relevant information. Since we are only removing duplicate or redundant information, there should not be a significant impact on search traffic. The key terms and information that customers use to find the product will still be present in the title, just without unnecessary repetition. The listings will not be suppressed.
2. **Can you provide examples of product titles that are currently compliant versus non-compliant under the new guidelines?**
I will follow up on that question.
3. **How will Amazon communicate with sellers who have non-compliant product titles? Will there be notifications or alerts in the Seller Central dashboard?**
Sellers will be notified on the Manage All Inventory page. Additionally, brand owners will be notified on Review Listing Updates page.
4. **Are there any exceptions to the 200-character limit for product titles in specific categories, such as books or industrial equipment?**
There are exceptions to the length limit for certain categories in certain marketplaces. Here you can find more details.
5. **Will these new product title guidelines affect the searchability of products on Amazon? How can sellers optimize their titles within these restrictions?**
If the title is not updated, Amazon will modify the product title to comply with the new policy while retaining all relevant information. Since we are only removing duplicate or redundant information, there should not be a significant impact on search traffic.
