Fraudulent return
Hi,
I listed a rare book on my account which was FBA. It was purchased quite quickly but returned as unfulfillable. Upon having the book returned to me, it’s clear that this is not the same unit that I sent in to the warehouse. What support is available please and what action can be taken - My initial thoughts are that this has been done fraudulently by a buyer to swap a damaged book for one in better condition (and much higher value).
Clearly I’m somewhat annoyed by this and want to ensure that it’s addressed quickly.

Unfortunately, this is a very common issue and there is not much you can do. When you signed up for FBA, you agreed to Amazon’s terms and conditions. Customer damaged returns are not subject to reimbursements.
Buyers are able to select any return reason and Amazon will not investigate whether it’s factual or not. Also, they can swap your items for something else, which Amazon will not notice and place them back into your sellable inventory following a return.
You could try documenting everything and then open a case with the Seller Support, requesting a reimbursement for the swapped/missing items, but a success is not guaranteed.
