Seller was offered a refund by AMAZON but i have not received the item and the buyer is not responding to messages

A seller was given a refund by Amazon. The buyer was given a refund and was messaging me before the refund. The buyer wanted a refund because their item is not compatible with their current system.
Buyer is not responding to their messages and I’m a small seller now out of pocket.

This is a broken system and trying to contact Amazon about this just ends up with me getting sent the link for A-to-z Guarantee Claims.

If anyone from Amazon is watching, this is a stupid, broken system and is not sustainable by sellers. Returns, refunds are something manages to get right but why cant amazon.

Can someone offer me any help or guidance as Amazon doesn’t care nor want to hear from me.

Did you tell the buyer to return the item for a refund, or did you just ignore their messages?

New Amazon Returnless Refund Policy kicked in on 5th October. Means orders below £20/25 Euros will be automatically refunded…UNLESS you provide an local return address (in your case, an Italian address) or pre-paid return label.

We got stung from an Italian order a couple of days ago. So until we find a solution: pull out of Italy altogether or VAT register and send stock to FBA or enlist services of a 3pl return company (I’m awaiting response to recent enquiries).

This is an awful new policy by Amazon; one click and customer gets full refund and keep the products.
