Can I Open a New Seller Account If My Brother’s Account Was Suspended? (Same Address on ID)

Hi everyone,

I’m seeking advice on a situation I want to handle carefully.

My brother’s Amazon seller account was recently suspended, and I’m planning to open my own seller account using all of my personal and business documents, including:

A different name

Passport (for identity verification)

Bank account (with a different address)

LLC (registered under a different name and at a different address)

However, my ID card shows the same residential address as my brother since we live in the same household.

I’m concerned about whether Amazon will link my new account to his suspended one because of the shared address on the ID. Does Amazon flag accounts based on ID address even if all other details are different?

Also, since my LLC and bank account addresses are different from my ID address, could this cause any verification issues?

I want to follow all policies and run a compliant business from the start — just looking for clarity on how Amazon might view this setup.

Would greatly appreciate any insights from the community.

Thank you!

Amazon uses many ways to determine if accounts are linked. A matching address would most certainly be among them.

You should help your brother reinstate his account, if that's possible.

this is my understanding on the matter.

Multiple Amazon seller accounts with the same address.

Amazon’s policies state that a seller cannot have two seller accounts with the same address.

Each Amazon seller account must have a unique: Email address, Bank account, And business information.

Besides, if a seller has a legitimate reason that they require a second account, they must request permission from Amazon and provide valid documentation to support their request.

Attempting to create multiple accounts with the same address or using a false identity to create a second account can result in the suspension or termination of all accounts and can harm the seller’s reputation and future selling opportunities on the platform.

So I would request permission first or you risk getting your account suspended as well.

... so you most probably use the same wifi and that makes both accounts related.

And if ONE account is suspended, each related account will become it too. So, fix "your brother's" account.
