Unable to list FBA Item - Differing company name with brand name
Hi all,
So I have a Ltd company name which owns multiple products/brands. My first one I am trying to add the product to Amazon and keep getting errors. Support is driving me insane with generic responses. I have brand registry but they keep saying I need permission from the brand. I am the brand owner and have already completed and been approved for brand registry. I have provided support with GS1 EAN’s and trademark certificates but then continue to get generic error responses. Anyone know what I can do? Surely my holding company name doesn’t need to match my branded product? For example, if my company was called Apple Products Ltd, does that mean Amazon will allow me to list a product with the name Apple automatically??

What exactly is the error you are getting?

I can’t remember the details but when I applied for brand registry a few months back, I had to give myself permission to use that brand on my existing listings.
Maybe there is something similar for new listings where you have to apply to yourself for permission, even though it is your own brand. Try going through the Brand Registry hub, maybe there is something there.

That means your GTIN codes have already been used on the Amazon catalogue.
Try another code, if you keep getting the same error go back to GS1 and ask to be issued new codes.
Seller Support are unlikely to help you (thought pigs might fly and you get one that is capable of thinking outside the box) and will keep giving you generic replies.
The fact it doesn’t come up just means its not been active in a while, but you still won’t be able to add what the system considers a duplicate item.
There obviously is, or at least was, a way of doing it as I’ve seen a number of different ASINS sharing the one barcode for different products (as is common in the greeting card industry) but Seller Support are unable (or unwilling) to tell me how it was done or let me create a new one
