Gated items question

Hello all
new to amazon here
ive had a case open for 3 weeks with amazon and seem to be getting automated responses not answering my question so hoping someone can help.
i have a few things for sale but im trying to list some of my computer games i have.
obviously icant provide proof of purhase as they are mine and have been for years.
i see some sellers have them for sale also and are not gated and also are not a business as i have order from some of them and they are all personal sellers.
how do you get ungated to sell them?

any help would be great as amazon arent repsonding to my query

thank you

Apply to list and provide the information they request.
If you can’t provide it, then you simply won’t be able to sell them. There really isn’t any way around it.

Gating is something where different sellers will have different experiences. Selling accounts effectively gain trust over time from selling which can mean they get auto-ungated. Sometimes a brand or category may become gated and existing sellers may not have to apply.

It can also be the case that having applied to be ungated by providing the required invoices for new items, a seller can then also list used items of that category / brand.

As mentioned previously Amazon and eBay are very different, if you are a new seller and attempting to sell in popular listing categories or large multi-national brands you will likely come across a lot of gated items.

As mentioned before Amazon gate items and categories to limit potential for counterfeit goods, also to improve the general experience by limiting who can sell items so that only experienced or business sellers can list them.

Amazon has a reputation to maintain as far as customers are concerned so gated items are a way they do that.

If you plan on being a casual seller, just selling personal items you are no longer using, eBay is probably a better outlet for you. There is less red tape and hoops to jump through and with bidding as well as buy it now you’ll likely sell hem quicker also.
