Posting at post office

Does posting cds at local post office using normal 2nd class require tracking number if so where are they.
Policy seems to suggest not needed.
What are the alternatives if you don’t have a printer to print off amazon posting

You do not have to send everything tracked, and certainly not worth the extra cost if lower value (say under £20), as if goes missing can claim from RM.
Buying ordinary postage stamps will not work. You need to buy the postage labels for LL/small parcel, and the PO will scan them and on the proof of posting receipt there will be a barcode/reference number which you then input into Amazon when you confirm shipment.

Not sure how you manage without a printer if running a business ? - presumably you do not include packing slips with your orders ?
They can be bought quite cheaply - mine was only £30 about 10 years ago - an ex-display Epson from Tesco - and still going strong !

  1. Buy a printer, even a used one
  2. If you print postage labels from Amazon or Royal Mail sites, RM will collect your item for free, no need to go to the post office and you will have proof of collection.
  3. You can even buy postage from Royal Mail (without a printer) and they will bring a label themselves
