Charge method card soon needs to be updated / replaced - looking for advice, please
My Visa ‘debit’ business card (Barclays) is due to expire in June this year, this is currently the card listed as my ‘charge method’ card, currently assigned to all marketplaces.
I am constantly seeing posts on the forum regarding charge method card problems with various types of cards and issues (mainly re: debit cards). It makes me a little nervous and anxious at the thought of changing / updating the card, when the time comes around.
It has been years since I have needed to update / replace it and I was wondering, does anyone know the approximate time that Amazon will ask for this to be replaced, is it just 30 days before the card’s expiry date? Or is it just on the actual date of expiry?
Also, am I correct in thinking that if the charge method card is not accepted, you must wait at least 24 hours before trying another card?
So, you cannot just try one card and then another a few minutes later, on the same day?
To avoid having to change my charge card again sooner than I would need to, I’m contemplating this time replacing my existing card with a Halifax MasterCard that will have the longest expiry date of my cards, this also has been used in store with chip and pin, therefore should be accepted.
Thanks in advance for any assistance and guidance that you may be able to offer.

If it were me, I’d get the new card, use it in a shop and then update it on amazon before the other expires

We recently updated our card on the account, completely new card details, it was verified/up and running again within minutes, and it is a business card.
Our previous card that is invalid is still linked to the other European marketplaces, however we have left it like it is as we don’t wish to sell there.

Hello @RS_Diablo_Graphics,
Normally, it will take less than two minutes for us to verify your credit card. However, depending on your card issuer and network, it can take up to 48 hours for Amazon to update your seller account with any new credit card information
@othersellers - thank you for your posts

Hopefully, I’m going to be reporting good news of a simple card verification done in minutes, if all remains OK after doing so!
I’ve just replaced my existing business debit card with my new Barclays Business Visa ‘debit’ card, in my new married name, on every Amazon site. It was instantly verified on each site and just needed an OTP code entered for each one, sent through to my mobile phone.
As ridiculous as it may sound (probably doesn’t lol), I cannot express just how nervous and anxious I was having to do this! In preparation, I’d also got together all the relevant documentation to re-verify myself again, if it was requested.
Hopefully, this will help others that are facing the same issue at some point when the charge method needs replacing, the best bit of my new card is an expiry date in 2028!
