Charged with no effect
I was setting up my account and I got to the point where I had to enter a card and it was going to charge me £1, after having a slight issue, I managed to add the card and got charged £1, however on amazon it told me that the card was declined, even though I got a notification on my phone from my bank telling me I’ve spent £1 on amazon

You are trying to set up a selling account?
Just leave the card details as they are if they are correct, make sure you have at least £5 in the account and Amazon will do a test on the card when they try to verify it.
Check which account type you have signed up to, the “Pro” account is charged £25 plus VAT/ month or the “Individual”, which does not have the monthly fee but does have a per item selling fee instead, so if you are not yet selling then you probably want the Individual account for now.
The £1 isn’t actually taken btw, it’s just a test and the funds don’t leave your account, just get “held” for a while.
