What everyone is talking about £30 charged from account

I have pondering on how to open a basic seller account on Amazon for over a month. I registered and whenever I click on basic account it takes me to payment page. Theres add ons which are hidden and when clicked on payment plan then it shows it. I unclicked both fulfilment and another add on because I wanted the basic account. I gave payment details and thought I will check straight away what account I have. Once I went to check up on that to my surprise I was registered for fulfilment when I unclicked it. I downgraded and I have not been allowed to sell anything yet as my account has not been verified. I am a small business and was hoping for the basic account and yes I have checked the whole website for how to do that.

They have a very complex page for new seller to register as a seller account. They somehow trick you to give your payment details and take money from you and then automatically register you for the fulfilment account even though I didnt want that. I believe that £25 a month is for fulfilment what is the other £5 for? Again no details or information on their seller website not extra charges stated. It’s not a nice start to getting people to join you to sell on Amazon. A new seller will lose trust in joining you. I have contacted them and opened a case. Let’s wait and see what they say. But to all future sellers be careful.

No they don’t. The page is confiusing, there is no doubt about that, but you just have to check carefully what you are doing and then click the right link for the basic account. You need to downgrade to basic seller and request refund and providing you haven’t made any sales (which it sounds like you haven’t) you will be refunded.

Verification is normal for any new seller and re-verification regularly takes place on existing sellers. Don’t expect a quick result though; these things are taking weeks if not months to resolve.

VAT. The cost for professional selling is £25 per month plus VAT, ie £30

Whilst I understand your frustrations, there are literally thousands and thousands of new sellers joining Amazon every day, most of them never read the basics of joining, just join up and then wonder why things don’t work. Everything you need to know about the basics of Amazon is here:

All I can add now is that you will need to be patient and await verification and downgrading. Please ensure that all of your personal details match exactly what you have entered on the form you completed to join, as in exactly. If there is the slightest difference, your verification will fail.

I have had the same experience as above. I have downgraded my account and haven’t made any sales.
My question is, how and where do I go to to request a refund?
