Pre Black Friday Sales

Sales are 30% of their normal amount for the past week, and 50% for the prior month…is anyone else experiencing this?

I guess it is just a pre-black friday slow down.

I’m trying to plan inventory purchases and finding it difficult, if I order the usual amount and the sales don’t increase back to normal, we’ll have cashflow problems next month.

Thanks
Steve

Interest rates rising again as well as the inflation of prices of everyday essentials means that payday this month is probably being stretched further than normal as most will be carefully budgeting for Christmas

I was about to start a post asking the same?

We have got really slow for this time of year? we always have sales pick up end of october, but all of october was so quiet even for a normal month?? Now come Nov its really not what it usually is? Really slow for us.

@The_Little_Shop is right, that’s what i thought the reason was. i think people are not sure what to spend , especially on luxury items, but i thought come november it would kick in ?? But nope.

Last 7 days have been alright for us, no major changes overall. Can’t you order less unless there’s a min order? Nothing worse than being out of stock.

something flashed up on my news page this morning that Amazon packers could be striking on Black Friday…

Interestingly I’m seeing an increase in number of orders each day this month however my profit is taking a beating! Appreciate that it varies depending on which niche your business is in however it’s still very early into Q4 to predict… I haven’t done any xmas shopping yet and won’t do for at least a couple of weeks.

My sales are up on last month. I have seen a gradual increase over the last few weeks on Christmas items and clothing for Christmas.

There are some sellers vastly undercutting on some lines. At the moment resisting competing as the pattern is they sell cheap and sell out, they don’t tend to restock and I sell at the price I want.

My sales are actually better than I expect for the time of year, I was thinking some buyers are buying earlier for Christmas to spread the cost.

Our categories have been decimated by AI’s interpretation of HFSS, so sales are 1/10 of what they were. Meanwhile, on planet earth, they’re 98% of what they were pre 1st October…

I sell toys. I have more choice this year, but so far since the start of November (when things kick off for me), I’m 30% down in sales. I expect that to continue over the Christmas period before getting worse next year.

On Amazon our International sales have been wiped out we used to do very well on here and the Uk the sales are now that poor it is becoming an easier decision each day to walk away from here for good.
I had a good run on here but the days of Amazon being a power house for 3rd party sellers are gone there are way to many problems on here now to see Amazon as a viable selling partner.
In my main section in the next few years there will be no authentic goods left even at the moment it is probably round 50/50 between authentic and fake goods.

Seeing this as well, guess all the fuel, energy and interest rate hikes are starting to bite. I am going to add a 10% off voucher and see if that helps.
