Payment for goods received after refunding buyer
Any advice on payment after we have refunded a late order will be gratefully received. Royal Mail strikes caused a late order and buyer is now stating that she doesn’t have to pay.

If the buyer is saying that then you stand very little chance of them paying for the item.
Some honest buyers will offer to pay once they have received their goods, and the only way is for them to contact CS and request that their card is recharged, BUT the reality of that is that it rarely happens as CS will tell the customer they don’t need to pay, or they say they will recharge the card but never actually do.

I think this falls into a very grey area both with amazon and the wider law.
Getting amazon to recharge a card is 1 issue, others have stated that the customer has manged to do it, however funds never reach the sellers account either. And yes some customers have reported that amazon do tell them no its ok they can keep the item for free.
in the wider law of the land [please don’t quote me on this] i believe the buyer does have to make the item available for collection if you wish to have the goods back that have not been paid for as the goods do still belong to yourself as refund provided.
Unfortunately we live in 2 worlds, some customers will want to pay for goods they have, others will as you experience take everything they can get for free with no conscious of the person at the other end loosing out.
