Are you brand registered ?
Have you tried doing it via file upload instead?
Sometimes it just doesn’t let you - what’s saved in the catalogue is saved that’s why on here it’s never a good idea to create a draft listing with the intention of coming back to unfortunately

I’m no expert in html but
I ‘think’ - very happy to be corrected , that the description in the 2nd screenshot maybe a brand registered account with a+ content which means you can use these different styles of layout for descriptions and images

You can now only really use < br > (no spaces) for line breaks. They’re cracking down on HTML code and will strip it all out. At the moment, they seem to be focussing on listings getting edited. Though I’m sure they’ll get round to them all at some point. You know, the sellers (mostly Handmade) they specifically told we could use some HTML and actively encouraged it. Now we pay the penalty of trying to update (in my case) thousands of listings.
I’ve had an issue trying to update the descriptions for two products for weeks. Both have/had the word Queen in them (Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Queen Street, etc., - nothing to do with the late Queen really), and thought maybe it had something to do with that. But even taking the word out, they’re still ‘stuck’.

I haven’t tried an upload yet. Just been busy and it’s only (as far as I can see) 2 minor listings.

Hello @KomfyAuto1,
Thanks for using the forums.
As mentioned by other sellers please use Amazon help pages and Seller University to assist you with this as it is difficult for everyone to go into specific details.
However, I can advise that HTML coding is generally not accepted on regular detail pages. If it does not work then there is no way for you or Seller Support to force the updates to display with HTML formatting.
For further information you will need to review the following help pages and possibly additional help pages linked to them:
Product Detail Page Rules
Product page style guide
Thanks to everyone that has helped in the thread!

Which says -
" As a special case, you can use line breaks (</br>) as necessary in the description"
FYI < br > and < /br > are effectively the same. Just a change in HTML a few years back, but either still work/do the same.

As a special case, you can use line breaks (</br>)
Maybe try with a / infront of the br
Ironically though since it doesn’t work here I doubt it will work on a description, but who knows… there is very little logic in Amazon
There has to be some way to add a new line, even Amazon can’t be daft enough to think a wall of text is a better layout than bullet point sentences and paragraphs.

I had the same issue a couple of weeks and got told to delete the listing, wait 24 hours (i didn’t i waited about an hour), then relist, then edit listing and change the info and it worked.
