Buyer wants refund adter returning wrong item

discussion.A buyer purchased sneakers on June 24. They requested a return and sent a different pair. On Aug 5 I started a Safe-T claim and won. On Aug 22 the buyer contacted Amazon who messged me with details that the buyer wants their refund. The buyer claims their elder mother returned the wrong item. What am I required to do here?

Tell them to send back the correct item for a refund.

You can give this buyer the benefit of the doubt. Inasmuch as they said their elderly mother returned the wrong item, ask them to send you a prepaid return mailing label so you can return their item to them.
