Removing items from amazon, why so many separate packages?
Hi.
Just this week I decided that my excess inventory is not selling as quick as I would hope and requested a certain quantity to be sent back to me. 4 separate packages boxes will be sent, with 4 out of the 5 containing just 1 item (cuddly toy)
Seems a little excessive to me although will be recycling the boxes and just use them on my next orders. I can understand if the items moved to different warehouses, but they all stayed at the same so seems odd to me they would pack them this way back to my address.
Has anyone else had an experience like this? is this normal?

Unfortunately yes, it does seem to be the norm.
Were your items all the same, or were they different toys?
If different then that would explain the seperate boxes, but if the same one then using 4 boxes seems inexcuseable really.

They are likely to have been stored in multiple locations. Amazon spread your stock around so that they can offer next day delivery to as many people as possible.

Your stock can be spread across multiple Fulfilment Centres. You could send in 100 QTY and have that stock stored in a dozen or so different FC… Each FC is going to pick the stock they have and ship in back in it’s own box.
