VAT registration for Germany - the roundabout
So, I upload my documents to Amazon.
Apparently the German authorities do not like my name, and the way it is written.
As an example it is J.M.Blogs and not Joe Blogs
So I change my name in the Amazon seller profile. Which as I suspected has triggered another account verification.
Now, they are not happy with my tax document as the name is written as J.M.Blogs. Now I have to contact the tax office and ask if they can write my name as Joe Blogs.
So far this procedure has set me back two months. I was criticised by people on the forum for blaming Amazon. Apparently they are helping the tax agent
because they are over worked.
I guess this is no one fault and I am not assigning blame. But what a Merry-Go-Round. And still my German account is frozen.

There is a zero-tolerance level on the business/tax details, which is not a bad thing. However Amazon is painfully slow, their feedback (if any) is not helpful, and they are even stricter than the zero-tolerance rule, as they are refusing legitimate 22f-documents (which ebay easily accepts), tumble over common abbreviations and such things. I certainly feel with you (and double-triple-check that everything matches - “Joe” is obviously not the same as “J.M.”…)
