Account review - advice

so i got an email saying my account is under review…

  • How long you have been in business.
  • Anticipated monthly sales on Amazon.
  • The address (URL or store address) of other stores where you sell these products.
  • Tracking information for recently shipped orders.
  • GSTIN, VAT ID, Tax ID, or Dun and Bradstreet (D-U-N-S) number.

so does this mean, i’ll have to register as a business to get tax information, i only started about 3 weeks ago… anyone help with the bottom line and what information they will need from me?

I’m pretty sure you’ve already been told you need to be registered as a business.

Well firstly you need to provide the information they have asked you.

If you are not registered as a business and are selling for profit then you will have to register as a business or as a sole trader. You don’t need a VAT number but you will need a company number or a UTR number.

If you are unsure how to register as a business/self employed then you will need an accountant to help you.

You’ve already been told.
The first thing you need to do is register as self-employed with HMRC and they will send you your UTR. It is very easy to do online - just google.
Then take the next step of changing your Amazon account to a Business one.

If your sales turnover (not profit) is £2/3,000 per week you will also need to register for VAT.
